In memory of

Elise Mary Margaret Arthur

April 12, 1947 -  April 28, 2020

Elise Mary Margaret Arthur, age 73, passed away peacefully at Brampton’s William Osler Hospital on April 28, 2020. She was born April 12, 1947 in Foleyet, Ontario to Gilberte and Albert Lalonde. She grew up in a loving family with 6 siblings and in 1969 married her loving husband Keith Arthur. Together they shared 44 wonderful years together and raised their children in Brampton, Ontario. Elise started working as a Hairdresser but opted to stay home to raise her family and became a devoted babysitter to several children. Elise later became a grandmother to Julia, Amanda and Matthew Ferreira and loved nothing more than spending time watching them grow up. Elise was a loving mother, grandmother and sister who loved spending time with family and friends. Elise experienced some difficult times in her life but through her faith in God and love for her family, she persevered and rose about the turbulent waters.

Elise enjoyed shopping, celebrating with family and music. Family sing-alongs are one of many fond memories she would reflect on. During her younger years she loved to cook, bake (famous meat pies and Christmas cookies), go camping, take boat rides, spend time at the beach and sitting down with a bag of Cheetos Puff Cheezies and watching a good movie. In fact, those Cheezies are something she asked for in her final days.

Elise leaves behind her three daughters Kara Ferreira, Heather Arthur and Kaila Feldman, her three grandchildren, her sisters Rose and Muriel, brother Raymond and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and of course friends. She is sorely missed but will never be forgotten.

Predeceased by her devoted husband Keith Arthur, sisters Bertha and Joan, brother Leo and her beloved parents.

Elise had an angel nurse at her bedside caring for her during her final days. She helped family stay connected via video conference so we could speak and see her even though we could not physically be with her. She went above and beyond to help Elise find comfort and we take comfort knowing she was sleeping peacefully before she passed. Her passing is beyond tears.

Due to the pandemic, no funeral service will be held at this time. However, plans for a memorial service and celebration of life are underway and will be communicated in due time.

Elise will be buried with her beloved husband and rest beside her sister Bertha at Meadowvale Cemetery in Brampton.

In lieu of flowers, family and friends may make a donation to CanadaHelps.org in support of COVID related needs in our communities.

My condolences to Aunt Elise's daughters and granchildren. I'm so sorry for your loss. I'm very thankful I was able to video chat with her a few days before she passed. We sang "Colinda" (a french song) together...she sang the french part and we had a laugh. She was always a wonderful and generous Aunt who I have fond memories of, especially as a child. She was always making some sort of treat, cookies or showing us how to make different crafts. She was a great cook! She enjoyed when we all sang together as a family and always encouraged me with my music. Thank you for all the wonderful years Aunt Elise. You are very loved. You will be missed. Rest in Peace.

So very sorry to hear of Aunt Elise's passing. She was always so much fun. She and your Dad were there every week to visit my Mom. Just an all around sweet lady.

Kara and Heather- I’m truly sorry for your loss. Your Mom was definitely a fighter and one of the sweetest ladies I knew. I don’t seem to ever remember her without having a smile on her face. She was so easy to be around and talk to and I know she will be missed by so many.
