Elinor Joan Mullaney, age 88, passed away peacefully on September 5, 2024 in Bobcaygeon, Ontario. Born on September 22, 1935, Elinor lived a life filled with love, compassion, and creativity.
Elinor is lovingly remembered by her children: sons Joseph and his wife Teresa, Thomas and his wife Lisa, and her daughter Colleen. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Jonathan, Jason, Daniel, and Brendan. Elinor was predeceased by her beloved husband Thomas and her daughter Kathleen, who remain cherished in her memory.
Elinor is also survived by her brother-in-law Eric and his wife Veronica, along with their families, as well as many nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart.
A lifelong lover of music, Elinor was actively involved in Sweet Adelines alongside her sister Evelyn. Their shared passion for 4 part harmony was a testament to their strong bond and creative spirit. Through Sweet Adelines, Elinor not only nurtured her love for music but also touched the lives of many with her vibrant presence and dedication.
Elinor’s warmth, generosity, and enthusiasm for life were evident in all she did. Her legacy will live on through the many lives she touched and the love she so freely shared.
A memorial service to celebrate Elinor’s life will be held on September 14, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. Guests are invited to arrive at 10:45 a.m. and gather in the parking lot of Pine Hills Cemetery. Following the service, we will celebrate her life at Symposium Cafe, located at 8187 Yonge Street in Thornhill.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Pinecrest Nursing Home for their compassionate care and support during Elinor’s stay.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in Elinor’s memory, reflecting her commitment to supporting cancer research and patient care.
Elinor Joan Mullaney will be dearly missed and forever cherished in the hearts of her family and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
