In memory of

Eino Edwin Rentola

October 28, 1930 -  April 11, 2023

It is with deep sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved father, Eino Edwin Rentola on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Scarborough General Hospital, Toronto, at the age of 92. Dad was predeceased by his beloved wife of nearly 63 years, Inge Ingrid Rentola. Devoted Father to: Ron and his wife Wosen, Kim and her husband Allan, Dawn (predeceased), and her husband Angelo, and Laurel Ann and her husband Doug. Beloved Grandpa to nine grandchildren and Greatgrandpa to five great grandchildren.
Born on October 28th, 1930, Dad was raised in Sudbury, Ontario. This tied his heart to the North. He lived first in Sudbury, then Sault Ste Marie at his Aunt’s home, and returned for his formative years to Sudbury. He was always curious about how things worked and that extended to God’s creation. He was a man to fix and make things himself. He worked in his youth at Inco Mine in Sudbury before going to school at Toronto Metropolitan University. Dad worked for Honeywell as a Technical Representative site person for General Motors. He would also take the “Northern Run” through the small towns up to Sault Ste Marie and into Quebec, which were opportunities for family vacations.
Seeking to serve his God and others, Dad sought to build community and welcome everyone he met. Because you gave your heart to Jesus, Dad, it’s not “goodbye,” but, “see you soon.”
Special thanks goes out to the staff of Providence Health Care ADP who welcomed Dad with love and joy. Also special thanks to the staff at Scarborough General Hospital who came alongside our Dad and family in such a difficult time. Thank you. What you do is important and it matters.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to Providence Health Care Adult Day Programme and/or to the Strathmore Boulevard Church of Christ.

My memories of the Eino and Inge Rentola go back to 1961, when they helped in a young peoples meeting, as I recall. They were always welcoming hosts. I have enjoyed their hospitality and valued their family's contribution to the life of the congregation. Eino always had a welcoming smile and a cheerful disposition. In his later years, when I would ask, "How are you", he would say, "Not to bad for an old fella". We are glad he is with the Lord. But we will miss him dearly. Our condolences to the family.
