Edith Gertrude Osborne (nee Coulter) passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of December 23, 2024 at 101 years of age. She is survived by her sons Gary and Rod and their families and pre-deceased by her husband Ray and son Craig.
Her long life is best characterized by two important things. One, was her determination to keep going despite whatever life threw at her. She was an orphan at age 11 and lived in various places. She participated in the war effort for WW2, she survived Rheumatic fever, traversed the Atlantic Ocean to start a new life in Canada, and survived a major heart attack in her early 40’s as a mother with a young family.
The second factor that was an important motivator in her life was her learning about Jehovah God and developing a strong desire to live a life of faith and works before him. This desire wasn’t shared by her husband and resulted in conflict, but she worked hard to maintain a married life that lasted more than 50 years of union and happy times. She was later joined by her sons Gary and Craig in her life of worshipping Jehovah God.
She enjoyed family and a cup of tea, a glass of wine every night with supper, watching the birds and squirrels from her window, going for walks and classical music. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by her son Gary (Linda), his son Curtis (Sandra) and their children Sofia and Luke, and his other son Kyle (Natalie) and their daughters Avery and Chloe, and by her son Rod and his children Derrick and Alanna (Julian) and their daughter Avery.
The family expresses appreciation to all who supported and befriended Edith through her long life and who have expressed kind words of comfort and shared their memories.
