In memory of

Dwight Alphonso

March 13, 1962 -  April 13, 2024

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dwight Alphonso on April 13, 2024 at the age of 62 years. Beloved son to Delma and John (predeceased), loving brother to Donald (Nadia), Ronald (Helen), Quinn (Elizabeth), Michele (Angelo) and the late John Jr. Cherished uncle of Tyler, Jonathan, Eric, Christian, Alexander, Evan and Chloe.

Dwight was a witty, amusing, intelligent and interesting character, always quick with a wisecrack and the ability to prove he was right. He grew up and lived in Scarborough his entire life. He attended Seneca College for Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and then decided to join the IBEW 353 - his life and career as an Electrician started. He was an amazing Electrician with a talent to fix anything that was broken. He was the true MacGyver!

The Alphonso family warmly invites everyone to the service for Dwight on Friday, April 19, 2024 at Pine Hills Funeral Centre, 625 Birchmount Road, Toronto, Ontario, M1K 1R1 (details below). The family would love for everyone to come together, share memories, and celebrate Dwight’s life.

In memory of Dwight and in lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Though he left us too soon, Dwight will be remembered forever.

So many wonderful memories of Dwight. He chaperoned me and my girlfriends to so many fun nights in downtown Toronto and Scarborough during my college and post college years. No one was better at finding free parking and making sure your glass was full! He took good care of us and got us all home safely. I loved how close he was to his family and easily welcomed me into his home to join them. He made me feel part of the family. I am sad we lost contact. I feel so heavy for your loss. Sending your great family my condolences and hugs. Xo

We knew Dwight through our dear friends Michele and Angelo. He did some electrical work in our house and yes, he was very skilled as an Electrician! And what a character he was! Dwight was an interesting man and he always had a lot to say. We will remember him fondly. 🙂
