Our cherished Dorothy Zuzanna Pierzchalski, of Mississauga, ON, has suddenly passed away. Dorothy was born in St. Laurent, QC on September 11,1963. Dorothy was predeceased by her mother, Henryka (nee Starzec) and her father, Boleslaw Pierzchalski. She is survived by her brother, Richard Preston, his wife Gina (nee Amedeo) and her beloved niece, Emily Preston. She will be dearly missed by her good friend of 53 years, Sue Tam, and her friend Gerry Laderoute, both of Quebec.
While living in Quebec, Dorothy had a varied career, working for many years as a Maître D in upscale restaurants and for the City of St. Laurent. Effervescent, kind and at times quirky, she loved to chat with her brother about their childhoods and life in general, sometimes in three languages - Polish, French and English. Dorothy was a devoted cat mom to Queenie and Mdm. Gendron. In fact, she loved cats so much (a passion she shared with Emily), that her license plate was “KITKAT”. She took pride in the fact that her 20 year old car, a Volkswagen Jetta, was still in top driving condition. Dorothy loved her family and made a point to often tell them so.
A celebration of life will be held in the near future. If you would like to remember Dorothy, please make a donation to your favourite pet shelter or rescue.
