In memory of

Dorothy Belle Chambers

January 17, 1933 -  April 19, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Dorothy Belle Chambers, who left us peacefully on April 19, 2025, at the age of 92.
Born on January 17, 1933, on Samsons Island, Newfoundland, Dorothy lived a life rooted in love, strength, and deep devotion to her family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Peter Chambers, and carried his memory with grace throughout her life.
Dorothy was the proud and loving mother of Susan, Karen, and Carla, and a cherished aunt to her nephew Bob. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren — Robert, Kat, Darryl, Russell, Shannon, Derek, Emma, and Liam — and her great-grandchildren, Jolie, Shay, and Ashton, all of whom brought her great pride and joy.
A visitation will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 4th, 2025, followed by an informal funeral service at 12:00 noon and a reception afterward. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate a life beautifully lived.
Dorothy’s warmth, wisdom, and presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the lives she touched.

I am so sad for you and your family. No matter how old you are it really hurts loosing your Mom. Try and remember all the good times you had and it will get you through your dark days.
Deepest sympathy 💗

Fun fact: Grandad Potter, Ant Dot and I all share the same birthday! I considered that fact pretty special..the same birthday spanning 3 generations. My other "fond" memory was of Ant Dot "flipping her eyelids" when I was sitting on her knee many many years ago and it completely freaked me out. She however got quite a kick out of my response. She reminded me very much of my beloved Grandad as they seemed to share the same sense of humour. Ant Dot, you will be missed but I am glad you are in a better place with loved ones who have gone before you. Until we meet again...

To: Susan, Karen,Carla, special nephew, Bob, sisters Minnie and Judy, brother David

I am very saddened to hear of the passing of Dot. It doesn’t matter the age of a mom when she passes, it still takes a piece of you with her. When Dot would come to NL, she appeared to be so happy. When I think of her I think of the smiles and the jokes she would tell.

Her loss is immeasurable, but so is the love left behind. Minnie, I know you will miss your sister but may God wrap His loving arms around you.

If Dot could speak to all of you now she probably would say, “Grieve not for me but just remember the best times , the laughter and the songs. Also remember the good life I lived while I was strong. I truly was blessed so continue with your traditions with your life. Yes, I miss you dearly but keep looking up until the day comes when we are together again.

Please know that I wish I could be there but at this time it is practically impossible. May God bless you all!!

Maxine
