In memory of

Doreen Poirier

December 29, 1929 -  September 25, 2020

I decided it was time to go and today I got my wish , I have no more cakes to bake and no more kids to tuck in tight. Dementia has made everyday into a night
I may not have remembered your faces or your names but I remember your touch and that I loved you very much.
I will miss my children Julian and Adrian (Joan) my grand children
Kiera and Joshua and Bailey and my Greatgrand children Leo and Olivia. But I am with Sam again and that’s where I belong
To my extended family I cherish all the memories you helped to create and each one of you were special. Don’t remember me with tears remember me with smiles and laughter as that’s how I will remember you all. Sam is setting sail so I must say good bye until we meet again.

We share in your sadness but cherish the rich legacy of love and caring that was Doreen. I have fond memories of the times I spent with her as a young child. Then later in life as we visited when Henri and I were in Toronto. So many special talks. I still have and use some of the exquisite flowers she made from her creative cake decorating days. We had planned a trip east last spring and then late summer but had to cancel because of the virus. I so wanted to see her. I am so grateful to my niece Sandy for the updates and the blessing she was to Doreen. Our thoughts and prayers are with all the family.
