In memory of

Donata (Nadina) Virgilio

November 7, 1939 -  May 25, 2021

Affectionately known as Nadina, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Donata Virgilio on May 25, 2021. Nadina was predeceased by her parents, Rocco and Rosa and her beloved husband Domenico. Nadina was loved and survived by her sister Teresa and her brother Natale, her children the late Angelo and surviving wife Tina, Rocky, the late Mimmo, and Steven, and by her grandchildren Michael and wife Jacqueline, Daniel, Jason, Gabriel and Julia.

Nadina was known for her kindness and compassion that everyone felt in her embrace. She cherished and supported her children with all her heart, spent quality time with her grandchildren and developed eternal bonds with them. Known for her passion for cooking and baking, Nadina took pride in all the meals she made to ensure her family’s tummies were always full. She enjoyed gardening and also had a passion for sewing, especially Halloween costumes for her grandchildren. Nadina was a devoted Catholic and her life reflected her faith in God. She is now resting in peace with the Lord and will remain in our hearts forever.

In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation.

The family thanks you for your kind condolences and support.

The funeral service will be streamed live at 11:00 AM ET on Tuesday June 1, 2021. A link to the live stream will appear on this page 10 minutes prior to the service. A copy of the stream will be available in the media/video section later in the day on June 1, 2021.

Condolences to family and friends of Nadina. I have known your mom for over 50 years and she was always so friendly and kind, soft spoken. I also remember so clearly when I was maybe no older than 16 years old. Nadina used to love the Italian sponge cake and one Saturday she asked me to her house to make this cake. I was there with my long time friend Mina and we were baking this cake. Your mom drooled over this cake. I remember how happy she was. I know there is not much that anyone can say that really helps when you lose someone so special but she is not gone, she is in a better place looking down reunited with her husband, sons and so many more loved ones. When you see a rainbow or a bright shining star, just look up and say "Hi mom". In the few short months that my husband has passed every time that my son and daughter-in-law see anything rare, a rainbow, a bird, a bright shining star, an upside down moon, they look up and say "Hi dad, love you". I hope this helps you. Cherish your memories. A friend from the past...Nicoletta De Palma
