Passed away on Sunday, July 17, 2016 following a courageous two-year battle with cancer. Don will be sadly and forever missed by his wife, Elsie, his children and their spouses Susan and Ian, Cindy and Graham and Danny and Sharon. He was a proud and loving grandfather to six grandchildren – Bronwyn, Lauren, Alec, Hayden, Darcy and Julia. Don spent more than 30 years on the Toronto Police Force. His career started as a motorcycle constable then progressed over the years reaching the level of Staff Sargent. During this time he had many roles, he worked in traffic and in the drug and school education programs. A celebration of Don’s life will be held at the Pine Hills Cemetery & Funeral Centre, (625 Birchmount Rd., north of St. Clair Ave. E., Scarborough, 416-267-8229) on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at 2 p.m. (visitation one hour prior). If so desired, and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Scarborough General Hospital would be appreciated.
