The family is sadden to announce that after a long and courageous battle with cancer, Dimitrios Vellianis passed away peacefully on December 12, 2018. “ Jim“ as he was known to his friends and family leaves behind his beloved wife of 50 years, Alexandra, and his children, Voula ( Andy- son in law), Mike ( predeceased) and Tryfon, whom he could not have been more proud of. Jim was a loving Pappou to his five grandchildren whom he adored more than anything else, Sofia, Dimitiri, Rebecca, Zachary and Xristina. Special thanks to the nurses and doctors at Trillium Hospital who took such good care of him during his final days. The family will forever be grateful for the support shown to them by his caring neighbours and in particular, Nick and Maria Trolio, who went above and beyond to support both him and Alexandra during the last year. Despite the void that will be felt in a world without him, the family takes great comfort in the knowledge that he has been reunited with his beloved son Mike, knowing that the two are together again. In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
