In memory of

Desanka Milanovic

June 20, 1924 -  August 3, 2025

It is with the fullest of love in our hearts that we remember Desanka Milanovic, age 101, who passed away peacefully with her family by her side on August 3, 2025.

Desanka was a caring, strong and affectionate woman. She was born and raised in Sevojno, Serbia to Voislava and Milos Mirkovic. She met her husband, Dragisa Milanovic in her mid-20s and eventually moved to Mississauga, Canada in 1992 where she lived with her son and family until her final days. Desanka was predeceased by her husband in 1992. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Aleksandar and Christina Milanovic; her daughter and son-in-law, Mira and Ziza Stojcevic; her grandchildren Michael, Melissa, Gordana, and Goran; and her great-grandchildren Stefan and Sophie. Her family will always carry her love and memories in their hearts.

Desanka touched so many lives and could show her love in even the simplest of moments, such as with a warm glance across the table, a slice of her delicious cheese pita, sharing about the latest tennis match of her favourite players, and smiling excitedly at an episode of Price is Right or Wheel of Fortune. She was a matriarch of a legacy of resilient generations.

Visitation is at The Simple Alternative Funeral Centre – Mississauga (1535 S Gateway Road) on Thursday August 7, 2025 from 5:30 – 8:00 PM. The family will hold a private funeral service on Friday August 8, 2025 at 10:00 AM at All Serbian Saints Serbian Orthodox Church (1375 Blundell Road, Mississauga). A celebration of Desanka’s life will follow at the home of Aleksandar and Christina Milanovic.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers during this time.

Rest in peace, Desanka. You will be loved and remembered forever.
Počivaj u miru, Desanka. Bićeš voljena i pamćena zauvek.
