In memory of

Della Lubin-Fulgosi

April 4, 1942 -  December 22, 2023

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Della Lubin-Fulgosi née Freedhoff, a woman whose remarkable life touched the hearts of many. Della peacefully departed this world on December 22, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, resilience, and indomitable spirit.

Della blossomed into a woman ahead of her time. She married the love of her life and cherished companion for 37 years, Don (Bajo) Fulgosi, creating a bond that served as the foundation for a beautiful family. Della was the devoted mother and mother-in-law of Joseph and Anita, Kasi and Greg, Ali and Corey, Thomas and Krystal, Ginny and Ming. Her love expanded even further as the cherished grandmother of Kieren, Harley, Jamie, Tanner, Kai, Macy, Talon, Sophia, and James. Della leaves behind many loving lifelong friends, and cherished extended family, most significant are Bob and Katie Lubin. Della was predeceased by her loving and very close brother, Harry (Butch) Freedhoff and her parents, Anne and Ben Freedhoff.

Della's life was a tapestry woven with accomplishments and passions. A university graduate with a degree in Physical Therapy followed by a Master's in Social Work, she exemplified the pursuit of knowledge and intellectual curiosity even while always prioritizing her family. In her youth, Della was a force to be reckoned with on the tennis court, displaying skill, determination, and a competitive spirit that left an indelible mark on the Canadian tennis world over decades of achievement. From childhood, her grace extended beyond the court to the slopes, where she showcased her prowess as a beautiful and skilled skier. Della helped run her family-owned business, Hockley Valley Ski Club, which opened in the 1940’s and catered to skiers of all persuasions.

Real estate was Della's main enduring professional passion through which she was well known and profoundly impacted many lives.

Despite her formidable achievements, Della faced a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease and related dementia. Through it all, she demonstrated unwavering strength, resilience, and a grace that inspired all who were privileged to know her. Free from the burdens of these health struggles, we hope that Della now embarks on her next adventures with the same curiosity, passion, and care that defined her earthly existence even while her spirit, marked by a gentle intensity, will continue to guide and inspire those who knew and loved her.

To honour and celebrate Della's amazing life, a celebration will be held in the spring of 2024. To be contacted for Della’s celebration of life, please email: alisonlubin5@gmail.com or kasi@telus.net

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Della's memory to the Parkinson's Foundation.

Della Lubin-Fulgosi's light will forever shine in our hearts, and her memory will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to be a part of her remarkable journey. May she find her peace in the arms of the next great adventure.
