we will missed you...... My condolences to the family
I met Day (as we knew him) Tran and his family in Sault Ste Marie soon after they arrived to Canada from Vietnam in the 70’s. Our family was one of several, who sponsored the Tran family through our church. I fondly remember the joy they all brought to our home and lives, during Sunday dinners and other wonderful gatherings. Though many years have passed since last seeing Day, I have never forgotten how meeting him impacted me personally. I was and continue to be struck by Day’s positivity, determination, courage, boundless energy and above all else...his love for his family that I always saw reflected wholeheartedly in his broad warm smile and twinkling eyes.
I am so sorry that Day’s journey ended in such tragedy. May you be comforted in your time of grief by how radiantly Day lived while here. I believe he must have deeply touched and inspired so many with his contagious smile and courageous heart. Please accept my deepest and most heart felt condolences.
Holding you all in my prayers

We are so sorry for your loss Rose and Lan and family. This is such hard news and so sad. Please accept my condolences on behalf of the Quinn family, we will keep your dad in our prayers and are thinking of you guys during this extremely difficult time. It is never easy to lose a loved one, but so important to reflect on all the good memories from their life lived. Judging by the big smile in the photo attached, there was no shortage of those.
Lan, Rose and Family,
I'm heartbroken for you all.
I know how much your Dad meant to you, and I cannot imagine losing a parent under these circumstances. Growing up with you, I have always remembered the passion he showed daily for you all. What always stood out to me was what an intense and hard worker he was in support of you all. The love was always genuine, generous and plentiful. And he always treated me in that same way.
I have a funny story that I want to share, and I hope it is ok.
One day, shortly after your Family arrived in SSM, your Dad, being him, was doing everything he could to be generous as he always was. So, he went to the St Mary's River, spear in hand, and filled his Honda's trunk with Salmon. Then drove to my parents house to share the spoils. His grin...ear to ear. I'll never forget that. So proud.
I remember my Dad trying to tell him that it is SO illegal to spear fish in Canada. But there was no getting rid of that grin on his face. He was really proud.
The joke of that day was "well who's gonna go tell the Asian Guy with a spear in his hands to stop!?" 😊
My wish for you all over the coming days is that you can remember that grin, hold onto it, and going forward, never forget the love and passion he had for you all.
All My Love,
Kev
Words alone cannot begin to express how deeply saddened I am to hear of De Tieu Tran passing. He was a very generous and kind hearted soul. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten.
My deepest condolences go out to the family. May his memories bring you comfort and solace during this difficult time and always.
