In memory of

David Tadashi Okamoto

July 14, 1956 -  March 17, 2025

It is with deep sadness that we announce the recent passing of David Okamoto.

David had an unmatched spirit. His positivity, sense of humour and love for life were infectious. His mere presence was uplifting not only to those close to him, but also to anyone lucky enough to hear him tell a story. David loved people, he loved to laugh, and he loved to tell stories that made people laugh. He lived life to the fullest and the way he lived was a constant reminder to those around him of how life is meant to be lived.

David had a successful sales and entrepreneurial career that allowed him to interact and build positive relationships and friendships with so many people. His desire to help others led him to some of his proudest accomplishments including volunteering his weekends as a ski patroller and over 10 years as an important contributor to the All Saints Church.

Despite the many things in life that he loved, nothing made David happier than being a father. David was a proud, dedicated father to his son Mitchell, who to him was life's crowning achievement.
David and Mitchell had the opportunity to travel the world together, to explore their love of food, and to binge watch their favourite shows together. The memory of these special times together will last forever.

David is survived by his mother Mariko, sister April (Dave), son Mitchell (Nicole), niece Lisa (Rory), nephew Matthew (Sayble) and grand-nephew Wesley.

A Celebration of David’s life will be held on May 8th, 2025, from 4 pm to 6 pm at the Credit Valley Golf Club at 2500 Old Carriage Rd, Mississauga, On. Welcome to guests and formal proceedings will begin at 4:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers the family asked that you consider donations in David’s memory to Trillium Health Partners or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

Dave became my best friend on the first day of Grade 9 at Kipling Collegiate and remained such to the very sad day of his passing. In the last half century, not a month has gone by when we didn't connect and my day was always better for it. Dave has always had that effect on people. There was never anyone quite like Dave Okamoto, and there never will be. The world is a lesser place without him. See ya, buddy.

Quite saddened to hear this news. David was a pleasure to work with. Always positive and full of interesting stories. I hope it helps his son find peace knowing how much he loved him. We could tell how proud he was to be a dad, HIS dad. My condolences to the family

Hi April, I don’t know if you’ll remember me. We were in a 5/6 split class together. I just wanted to say how sorry I am to hear about your brothers passing. I knew of him but didn’t know him personally.
Just wanted to leave my condolences.
