In memory of

David George Morrison

September 22, 1958 -  November 29, 2020

With the love of his life by his side, David died peacefully on Sunday, November 29, 2020 at the age of 62 following a courageous battle with throat cancer. He will always be lovingly cherished by Val (Velma), his life partner of 35 years. He will be dearly missed by his sister Jennifer (Rob), sister-in-law Rose (Ed) and brother-in-law Vic (Julie). David was predeceased by his devoted mother Flossie (nee MacDonald) and father (George) Wray Morrison of Kingston, Ontario.

David loved and appreciated music all his life. He began to play the piano when he was 5 years old and he became an accomplished classical pianist. He grew up in a loving family and enjoyed many happy times trailer camping, especially at Canoe Lake. From an early age, David also loved going to Florida, spending many blissful carefree sunny days at the beach.

David moved to Toronto in the early 80’s, had a successful career in business and later became a fund-raiser and community volunteer.

His family and friends were most important to him. He had a keen sense of style and he took great pride in making a beautiful home. He especially enjoyed tending his flower garden. David loved to entertain friends and family at home. He was a consummate host who could mix the perfect drink while also being a grill master.

David kind-heartedly loved all animals and he was the best loving care-giver to Shelby and then Bailey, our two precious Shelties.

David loved playing euchre, especially every other Wednesday night with a wonderful group of friends. He was truly blessed with many close friends, cousins, relatives, and dear neighbours. He will be sorely missed.

There will be a memorial service for David on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at 11am. Due to COVID restrictions presence at the Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre is by invitation only. David was a cool cat indeed. His casual ease will be missed. I always enjoyed Dave's perspectives on everything from gardening to bbq techniques. Rest in heavenly peace.

I feel very sad to have lost David. With his vivacious life he brought happiness to those around him. After his very courageous and difficult battle in a very difficult year, he is finally in Peace with the Lord. Requiem aeternam dona eis Domine, et lux perpetua luceat eis. Rest In Peace my friend.
