In memory of

David Lynden Stevens

June 27, 1961 -  August 8, 2017

We are heart broken to announce the passing of David Lynden Stevens on August 8, 2017 peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Dave is survived by his adoring wife Caroline, dad George (Naomi), sister Susan (Norm), brother Tom, and brother-in-law Nick (Sandy). Uncle Dave was loved dearly by his many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mum Maxine and brother Tim. Dave was a loving husband, son, brother, uncle and friend to many. He always brought smiles and laughter to all who knew him. Dave's passion was music; he was an avid cyclist, golfer and dart player. After his recent retirement from Scotiabank, Dave was a volunteer driver for the Canadian Cancer Society. The family is grateful for all the support from the wonderful staff at the Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care, especially Alexei, and the unwavering support of our family doctor, Robert McKellar. Friends may call at PINE HILLS CEMETERY & FUNERAL CENTRE, 625 Birchmount Rd., Scarborough (north of St. Clair Ave. E., 416-267-8229) on Sunday, August 13, 2017 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, August 14, 2017 at St. Lukes Anglican Church, 904 Coxwell Rd., at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the Temmy Latner Centre for Palliative Care. I'm so sorry that I can't be there to say goodbye to Uncle Dave. I'm out of province and won't be back in time but my heart goes out to Caroline and Grandpa Steve, also to Aunt Sue and Uncle Tom. Uncle Dave was the coolest uncle anyone could have had.

Caroline:

I wish to offer you my deepest and sincerest sympathies on the death of your husband, David. While it was not unexpected, nevertheless it still is a great shock when it actually occurs.

I shall pray for him and also keep you and all those whom he has left behind in my prayers.

I went to high school with Dave at EYCI. He was always funny, good-natured and easy going. Dave and I reconnected some years ago on Facebook, and I'm glad to have done that. It's sad to lose an old East York friend. My deepest condolences to you and the rest of your family as you cope and grieve through this difficult time. Dave will be missed by all of us who knew him.
