Brierley, David Leo

David Leo Brierley, 61 years old, from Toronto, Ontario, passed away peacefully at Toronto General Hospital on April 12th, 2017. For a year he battled Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma prior to his passing.

David was born in Vancouver to Matthew John (Jack) and Gwendolyn Lavinia (Groves) Brierley, who were married in Vancouver in 1950. Dave graduated from George Brown College in Toronto and received his diploma as a mechanic. He was dedicated to his work at the Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) for over 25 years, starting at a painter and working his way up to being a mechanic and servicing street cars. Dave's hobbies included studying music, playing the guitar and keyboard, studying ancient history, photography and collecting model railroads and trains.

He will be truly missed by his loving mother, sister, brother in law and two nieces.

Dave and I met in grade 7 and have stayed in touch for all these years..He was never wavering in his support and kindness through my trials with health issues..it was my great pleasure to visit Tofino with Dave and watch him marvel at Canada's west coast beauty.. he visited me here several times over the years always threatening to retire here,I wish that had come true...I will miss you my old friend,sleep easy Dave.. all love always
