In memory of

David Joseph Kush

August 12, 1961 -  June 25, 2019

Passed away suddenly at home in Markham, Ontario on Tuesday, June 25, 2019. Beloved son of Helen and the late Richard (Dick) Kush. Dear brother to Rick (Laura) and Rob (Liz). David will be affectionately remembered by his nieces (Amelia, Caitlyn and Amy) and his nephew (Matthew). His love and care for his family and especially for his mother will always be cherished. David was an accomplished National Service Manager in the restaurant and food equipment industry, an astute political scientist and, as can be seen in the photo, one hell of a sportsman. His lightning wit and encyclopedic memory will be greatly missed as well as his story-telling ability, whether gathered around the kitchen table or a campfire. All the great memories shared on family vacations as well as cottage trips on Lake Brereton, Lakefield and at Camp Dorset will not be forgotten. Farewell dear brother. Farewell dear son. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2019 from 2pm to 5pm at the Simple Alternative in Pickering (1057 Brock Road, just south of Highway 401 on the east side). A memorial service will be held at a later date this fall.

David, life with you in it was never dull. You made a great impact on your nieces and nephew that they will carry with them forever. Your Mom and brothers will share your stories and we will remember with happiness your quick wit, your imagination and your love and loyalty to your family. You were wholeheartedly loved by us all...and you will be wholeheartedly missed by us all. A light has been extinguished too early...
‘You could not stay another day, to love, to laugh, to work or play; tasks left undone must stay that way. And if your parting has left a void, then we’ll fill it with remembered joy’ (Irish blessing).
May God bless your soul and bring you the peace you so deserve.
We love you forever....

The last time I saw my Uncle David was when we were helping my Babcii pack some clothes up, we had found this weird hat with cloth coming down the back to protect your neck, I'm guessing from sun and maybe bugs. My mum asked my Babcii if she wanted it, she was just going to toss it when he starts saying "I want that hat!" He then put it on, and with one of his canes (they could come apart in 2 pieces) he was holding them like a cross, saying hes an acient Pharaoh, I can remember him having a huge smile on his face, just having fun with his family. I'll really miss my Uncle David, and his stories, and all the fun memories i hold with him will forever remain, tucked away in my heart, never to be forgotten. I love you, and miss you already!
