CONBOY, David Austin
November 13, 1939–June 27, 2025

Dave of Oshawa passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Hospital-Bowmanville, at the age of 85, surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Donna Conboy (Harlow) for over 36 years and loving father of Jeff Conboy. Dave is predeceased by his parents, Austin and Bessie Conboy. He was the dear brother to the late Marion (late Desmond) Taylor and the late Dorothy (late Robert) Rathwell and will be missed by his sister-in-law Debbie Albrecht. Dave will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews, the late Judy Brady (Bill), Donna Brady (John), the late Ken Rathwell, Dave Rathwell (Megan), the late Linda Hester (Harry), Wendy Fortin (Boyd), Aaron Harlow (Nadia), Shona Harlow (Shawn), Greg Albrecht (Chantel), Linda Wynne (John) and Chris Albrecht (Lyna), many cousins, great nieces, nephews and extended family.
Dave loved playing baseball all of his life and he won countless championships/tournaments throughout his playing days. In later years he started running, became an avid golfer and was one of the most consistent and top 5 pin bowlers in Oshawa for many years, before becoming a 10 pin bowler. He enjoyed travel throughout North America and loved being a carpenter in his spare time. You could see his skill and craftsmanship from building a small project, such as making a table to building something as large as his own cottage. His pride and joy, as a carpenter, was building his rolltop desk for his den.
Friends may pay their respects at Thornton Funeral Centre, 1200 Thornton Rd N, Oshawa, ON, on Sunday July 13, 2025, from 11:00am to 2:00pm, for a visitation and memorial to Dave’s life. There will be no service as per Dave ‘s request. Donations to the Alzheimer’s Society, in Dave’s memory, would be greatly appreciated.
A special thanks to the nursing staff of CCU at Lakeridge-Bowmanville, for their excellent care and compassion. A very sincere gratitude and appreciation to Donna’s best friend Gail Batt, with whom she never would have made it through this very difficult time.
