It is with great sadness that the family of Darlene Roth-Riches announces her peaceful passing on Wednesday, April 26th at Toronto General Hospital.  For the past 4 years Darlene has courageously fought to conquer myelodysplastic syndrome and the complications of her bone marrow transplant.

Darlene was born on June 20, 1955 in Kitchener, Ontario to the late Wilfred and Elda (Baechler) Roth.  She is survived by her loving and devoted husband Kevin Riches, whom she married on July 26, 1997, and has resided in the Toronto area for most of her adult life.  

Darlene enjoyed her career as a Registered Practical Nurse and, and was a devoted employee of Wellpoint Health.  She was an avid reader, she loved to travel, and she especially loved the time she spent with her family and friends.
She is lovingly remembered by her siblings, Cheryl Roth of Guelph, Linda (Neil) McKenna of Clinton, Brian (Jeanette) Roth of Waterloo, Richard Roth (Kitchener), Bonnie (Robert) Zehr of Tavistock, Ross Roth of Lucan, Mark (Carol) Roth, Clinton, Mississippi, and Terry Roth of New Hamburg.  She is also fondly remembered by her sister in law Hester Riches of Toronto, and her brother in laws Dennis (Emi) Riches of Japan, and Michael Riches (British Columbia).  She will be deeply missed by her nieces, nephews, great nieces, aunts, cousins and a multitude of friends.

Darlene is preceded in death by her parents Wilfred (1994) and Elda Roth (2014), her father in-law, Ron Riches (2007) and mother in-law Marion Riches (2008).

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Wellspring Westerkirk House, or Wellspring Downtown Toronto.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 30 from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm and on Monday, May 1 from 12 noon to 1:00 pm followed by the funeral service & reception at the Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre, 375 Mt. Pleasant Rd., Toronto, Ontario.
