In memory of

Dagmar Simonik

September 12, 1928 -  March 27, 2018

With family by her side, Dagmar passed peacefully on March 27, 2018 after 89 incredible years. Predeceased by her husband, she was the beloved wife of Frank Simonik, beloved mother of Judi Myers (Jim), Osgoode, and Martin Simonik (Terry), Toronto. Extraordinary and much loved babi to Marc Simonik (Stephanie), Lauren Gruggen (Mike), Alya Bartlett (Adam), Dennis Myers (Kaitlin), and Greg Myers (Sarah), and prababi to Nicholas, Winter and Jonathan. Dagmar’s family wishes to thank the exceptional staff at Delmanor Northtown for their support, love, and compassionate care. As a distinguished family physician for over 60 years, Dagmar touched many lives with the personal and caring approach she took with every one of her patients. Dagmar will be fondly remembered by her family and friends as a lover of classical music and all things literary, sudoku master, rainbow coloured fashionista, coffee snob, culinary genius, snack drawer guru, and a curious, engaged listener who always managed to find out everything about your life within a five minute conversation. She will be dearly missed. As expressions of sympathy donations to the Toronto Symphony Orchestra or the Regent Park School of Music would be greatly appreciated.

In celebration of Dagmar's colourful life, her family invites those attending to dress colourfully if they so choose.

Dear all,
I feel very grateful to have met my dear auntie Dadka (as we always called her) when she came back to Czech after the fall of iron curtain. I was lucky to be at the airport just when she arrived and witnessed the miraculous meeting of her and my dad Jiri (her older brother) after nearly 30 yrs! They both cried. It was very moving. It must have been in 1992-93? Ater that we exchanged couple of letters and had couple phone -conversations. The last one was on her sisterś Bohumila 90ś b´day last year. I keep fond memories of her as a very listening and loving person. And it is true- she knew all in 5 mins!!! Sending you all my love auntie Dadka!!!

To Dagmar's wonderful family,

I can not truly relay the incredible imprint Dagmar has left in my life. She captivated me from the moment I met her, and her compassionate, loving demeanour and our chats made my daily life that much sweeter! I will miss her dearly and I pray for strength for the entire family as you grieve. I will miss her.
With love, Kristina (Delmanor)

Dearest dr. Martin and family,
how do we say goodbye to one of the most wonderful beautiful ladies that lived. I consider my self so blessed to have had her in my life for so many years, she was our doctor and our freind for 4 generations of my family members. How lucky we were to have her taking care of all of us this long. The compassion and love she showed every one of us was remarkable.
I will miss her sound advise and her beautiful smile, every time I would visit her I could not leave without giving her a big hug.
Thank you Dr. Dagmar Simonik for being one of the most beautiful caring and compassionate doctors and freind that anyone could wish for.
I will miss you so much and love you always💗
The heavens have gained a beautiful angel💕
