It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Cynthia Robertson on March 25th at Extendicare Bayview in Toronto. Daughter of the late William George Dean and Alice Mary Dean (nee Firstbrook); beloved wife of the late Douglas Frederick Robertson and sister of the late Hugh Dean and William (Bill) Dean; survived by her children Pam Ellis (Len) and David Gregor Robertson (Christine) and step mother of Michael (Janet), Rosemary (Mike), Dougal and the late Suzanne Drahotsky (nee Robertson); grandmother to Landon and Brook Ellis and Emma and Matthew Robertson. Cynthia was born on January 27, 1928 and was raised in Forest Hill where she attended Brown School followed by a B.A. at UC, University of Toronto, 1950 (Delta Gamma sorority); worked as an editor for Maclean- Hunter for many years. A bridge and gardening enthusiast, Cynthia enjoyed many years of cottaging with her husband Doug, their family and many close friends in Oliphant, ON where legendary shore dinners became the norm and from which they almost always returned unscathed. Cynthia thrived in the company of family and close friends and loved to laugh, which made "Cynnie Baby" and "Big Doug" so much fun to be around. Sincere thanks to the staff at Donway Place and Extendicare Bayview for the kind attentiveness during Cynthia's stay with them. Cynthia was a great lover of animals, especially cats; in lieu of flowers we ask that any donations be made to the Toronto Humane Society. Please join us on May 28th if you can to share fond memories and raise a toast to a person who was great in all the ways that really mattered.

Please check out the slideshow under the "Photos" tab and if you wish, click the "play" icon on the music option in the top right.
