Cornelius Schanderl

February 15, 1932 - June 25, 2020

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Cornelius Schanderl (Corrie), aged 88 years old on June 25, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Grizelia of 57 years, Cherished father of Maria Helena, Patricia Chris (John), Andrea Norman (James). Corrie also leaves behind his brother Hans Schanderl (Ludovina). He is predeceased by his oldest brother Heinrich Schanderl (Gina). He also leaves behind brothers in law Frank Martins (Rajani Pazhayannur) and sister in law Aldivania Melo (Carlos), nieces and nephews both in Canada, the Azores and mainland Portugal.
Corrie was an avid swimmer and sailor. He also loved opera, the symphony, and stamp collecting. In lieu of flowers donations to the Odette Cancer Centre would be appreciated by the family. The family would like to thank all the compassionate VHA workers who worked tirelessly to make him comfortable till the end. Private service.
