In memory of

Constantine Betsos

June 8, 1957 -  October 5, 2021

Constantine "Kosta" Gus Betsos was born to George Betsos & Ekaterini "Katina" Anassis. Kosta passed away peacefully in his sleep, after a short battle with cancer, on Tuesday October 5, 2021, at the age of 64.

Kosta was the young prince of two children, affectionately nicknamed "Maharaja" by his mom. He was raised in a traditional Greek household and enjoyed spending time surrounded by a large extended family and loyal friends. From a young age Kosta developed a love for entertainment, sports, travel and music. He loved movie-going, loved science fiction, played ice-hockey, golfed, vacationed often to Greece. He was an amazing dancer, and could make even a novice partner, seamlessly fly across the dancefloor as if they were a pro.

He married Kathleen Louise Kellett on July 21, 1990. In 1994, the couple welcomed their son, Alexander George, into the world. Kosta studied computer programming at Herzing College and Ryerson University. Kosta held various jobs: Taxi Driver, Computer Programmer (Dylex & Wood Gundy) small business owner, property manager, school bus-driver to special needs kids and as of late an Uber Driver. Kosta loved sharing his experiences and stories with others and he aspired to live life to the fullest. His primary goal was to be a good father and role model to Alex, instilling in him that same thirst for adventure, the importance of family and love of science fiction.

Kosta is survived by his son Alexander Betsos, his sister Kiki Betsos and his nephew George Betsos, along with aunts, uncles and numerous cousins. He is predeceased by his parents and it is comforting to know they are united now. Aἰωνία ἡ μνήμη.

A Visitation for Constantine will be held on Tuesday October 12, 2021 from 4:00pm – 8:00pm at PINE HILLS CEMETERY & FUNERAL CENTRE, 625 Birchmount Rd., Scarborough, Ontario. A Private family service will take place on another date.

I had known Gus as a young age of 13 threw my cousin Henry Beaubien. We all ways had fun in those days. That was 51 years ago. Over the years I had seen many Chapters of his life. I remember when he got the AMC Gremlin and we would drive all over Toronto. He always knew all the short cuts through alle ways and side streets. His girlfriend Maggie from Kitchener. Playing records in his room up stairs at Ossington Ave. He always labeled and kept a data base of everything. In the old days we always helped each other out. I rented his mom's garage where I would work on cars rebuilding engines and bodywork on a small scale as I also rented a room. Many years have passed, many memories good and bad, but that is what good friends are made of over the years.

Gus, may you rest in peace my friend.

My dear friend, you were a crazy part of my life and always a good road companion on those drives to the Capital. You kept me "on the road" during the bad weather and taught me a few tricks. Your crazy dance moves where my feet would literally leave the dance floor during those wild spins will always be remembered. You always came to me for advice and to keep you grounded when you needed it and I will always cherish those talks. So long my friend until we meet again on the big dance floor where the dance continues. I know you are dancing now.
