Cono Mangano was born in Capo d’Orlando, Sicily on March 21, 1922. He was the youngest of five. He was predeceased by his beloved brother Pepino, his sister Sara, his oldest sister Maria, who died at the age of 101 in Australia, and is survived by his sister Calogera who currently resides in New Jersey and is 101.
Cono married the love of his life, 18 year old Caterina Sirna, on September 16, 1950.
On November 25, 1951, Cono and Cathy welcomed their son Basilio into the world. On December 10, 1955, their beautiful daughter Angelina, was born in Toronto.
Son Basil and daughter-in-law Vivian (nee Souter) have given Cono and Cathy, four grandchildren, Ryan, 35, Brent, 33, Clayton, 25, and Vanessa, 22.
Angie, and her husband Phil Bateman have two wonderful daughters, Amanda 30, and Sara 28.
Cono’s greatest loves were his devoted wife, children and grandchildren. His greatest passion was his massive garden and his love of growing almost anything and everything. A special and remarkable man who will forever be missed.
