In memory of

Cicely Chang

November 7, 1915 -  July 4, 2020

Our beloved Cicely passed away on July 4, 2020 at 104 years of age.

She is survived by her children Annette, Gloria, and Peter, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her eldest children Shao Jung (James) and Shao Gen (Azia) predeceased her many years ago. Her loving daughter Donna also left this world before her and was there to meet her in heaven.

Cicely lived decades after her husband, Min Hing, and she dedicated herself to the family. Her devotion was extraordinary. She was a fantastic, inventive cook who could make anything taste great - even cinnamon sugar soup for her grandkids. She frequently baked for her Chinese Lutheran community (and was a guest speaker during their church services). Her shao baos and egg rolls will be talked about for generations.

Cicely was a great gardener and skilled in preserving food. Her life skills were admirable. She traveled widely and was fortunate to be present for a personal blessing by Pope Paul VI, in Vatican City, Rome, to a small group of congregants.

Cicely was not just loved - she was cherished. We will miss her every day until we can meet again.

In remembrance of my Mom, Cicely

Mom was always there when I needed her. She fed us all thousands of meals, including her famous Shao Bao's.

She showed us what it means to Love Your Family.

She is my hero, my Hakka Warrior Woman.

She will always be a part of me, in my heart and in my memories
