In memory of

Chung Won Cho

May 10, 1943 -  October 6, 2023

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Chung-Won Cho, in the early hours of Friday October 6th, 2023 at the age of 80.

Chung-Won, also known as Charles, was born on May 10th 1943 in Seoul, South Korea. After graduating from the University of Seoul and successfully working as an Acetate salesman for many years, he met the girl of his dreams and together they embarked on a journey across the seas. In 1974 they arrived in Canada and started their family. They also ventured into a series of small businesses and after very humble beginnings, their hard work paid off. Their successes lead them to owning and running a convenience store in Brampton, where they would settle for the next 30 years. Jai and J’s Convenience was a great success, and to this day there are many who remember it fondly.
Charles was a spirited man and a fighter. Unfortunately, as hard as he tried, he lost his last battle to a heart attack he suffered in early August.

Charles was a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather. He was generous, patient, and fun and will be missed by so many. He is survived by his wife of 50 years Myung-Ja, his two sons Donald and Daniel (Thilini), and grandchildren Anakin, Karys, Noah and Raiden.
