Christine Andrea Lowe

Christine A. Lowe, 53, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2021, at Brampton Civic Hospital after battling with cancer for 3 years. She was born on January 23, 1968 to father Logan Ricketts and Mother Verona McIntosh in the parish of Westmoreland, Jamaica. Christine became a follower of Jesus Christ at a very young age. Her passion to know Christ and to serve others at their point of need were evident and authentic in her daily life.

Christine graduated from Ryerson University in 1994 with a Honours degree in Social Work. She married Stafford Lowe on August 13, 1994 and they resided in Peel Region throughout their marriage. Christine always had a passion to assist marginalized children to achieve their full potential. Together Christine and Stafford accommodated foster children in their home for 15 years while raising 4 children of their own. During that time, Christine played an exceptional role in moulding the lives of over 30 foster children. She later worked as an Educational Assistant with the Peel District School Board for over 10 years before demitting office due to illness.

Christine predeceased by her mother Verona in 2002. Christine is survived by, to her dearly beloved husband, Stafford; daughters, Breanna and Eboni; sons, Joshua and Samuel; father Logan; sister Nadine (Wilson) Harris; brothers Richard Ricketts and Michael Ricketts, aunts and uncles; brother-in-law Steve Harris; sister-in-law Simone Ricketts and Karen Ricketts; and 6 children sponsored under World Vision for over 16 years, and a host of other relatives and friends.

A time of visitation with her family will be held on Friday December 3, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Meadowvale Cemetery, 7732 Mavis Rd. Brampton, ON, L6Y5L5. Please note that the initial visitation hour, between 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm, will be accessible only to those fully vaccinated. Visitation from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. will not have any exemptions but will have a capacity limit, please be mindful of your time spent in the chapel to allow for other to come and pay their respects. This will allow us to accommodate a larger group of visitors, based on COVID protocols. A Homegoing Service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday December 4, 2021, at Kennedy Road Tabernacle, 141 Kennedy Road N. Brampton ON, L6V 1X9. Interment will also be at Meadowvale Cemetery, following the service. Persons who wish to remember Christine in a special way may make donations, in her memory, to Sinai Health Foundation at www.supportsinai.ca or World Vision Account #0641-8339 at www.worldvision.ca. Flowers can be sent to Meadowvale Cemetery for the viewing, on the morning of December 3.

She was a good and faithful servant who ministered and positively impacted the lives of many people with whom she came in contact. The world has been a better place for the time she was here. Her beautiful smile, compassionate and loving manner were infectious and helped to brighten our days. Gone too soon, Christine will be sadly missed by family and friends.

I have never met anyone in my lifetime more generous and caring and loving than my sister friend Christine. Even on her death bed she was asking me how my adult children were doing. All I can say is you taught me so much in the time you were here. We will meet again on that great gettin up morning is what I'm certain of. Sleep in perfect peace my sister.
