In memory of
Chryssoula Christina Gardanis
May 16, 1930 - March 19, 2022
Approaching her ninety-second birthday, our aunt passed away peacefully at the Michael Garron Hospital on March 19, 2022.
Like many Europeans at the time, she immigrated by ocean liner to Canada via Halifax.
She was born in Florina, Greece on May 16, 1930. She lived and worked her entire life in the North Toronto/North York areas.
She was predeceased by her father Vasilios Vasiliadis and mother Christina (Michailidis), wife to first husband Spiros Gardanis, sister to Theodora Nanoff, sister to brothers John and James Vasiliadis, aunt to Paul Nanoff (Dominique) and aunt to Dimitri (Jim) Nanoff.
She is survived by niece Helen Shortill (John) and family, nephew Tom Nanoff, niece Dominique Nanoff and family, nephew Victor Nanoff, nephew Bill Vasiliadis and family and nephew Kimon Vasiliadis.
Throughout her later years, she had received care and attention from many health care practicioners. Her family physician of 30 years Dr. Claudia Petrescu, Dr. Darren Kagal, Dr. Sorin Beca, and Dr. Michael Henry giving her the gift of clear vision.
Also, I would like to thank West Park Rehabilitation for restoring her mobility independence, North York General Hospital, Revera-Leaside staff/fifth floor nurses/PSWs, LHIN Coordinators/PSWs for giving her a caring environment in her final years and to all the departments/staff at Michael Garron Hospital that provided care and dignity in her final hours.
