Here today I stand in shock and disbelief before God , and in thoughts for the family of Chris and Mary Zolis.
We are grief stricken with the passing of a dear friend, a former neighbor, a father to his three children and a husband to his wife – and my heart goes out to his survivors, as life will never be the same without Chris.
We first met Chris and Mary in April of 1983 while both our families were house hunting, and as it turned out we purchased homes right next door to each other. We had a wonderful understanding friendship, and we were the envy on our street. Every Wednesday night we used to take the cars out of the garage, Open up the folding table, made coffee, Cake and had a wonderful time with each other. We even went on vacation together in 1985 to the Algarve in Portugal – we had one of the best vacations that one could never replicate even if we tried. We were neighbors for a short 2-1/2 years, but our friendship lasted for over 33 years, and this very friendship has brought me to tears today to pay homage to a wonderful, caring, decent and honorable individual who had always put his friends first. He loved and adored his family – his three children were the light in his life, but Chris too had a void in his heart – he lost his mother many years ago, and years later lost his father. Today, Chris is survived by his wife Mary, His daughters Jennifer and Jessica and his son Jordan, his Brother Angelo, father-in-law Nick, mother-in-law Angela, sister-in-law Sylvia and brother-in-law Bill, and nieces Peggy, Melissa, Angelica and Nephew Michael who will truly miss their uncle Chris.. Chris – from your friends who spoke to you just days ago a day before your birthday – we are in shock, our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family as we will miss you and your trademark – the moustache. With our deepest condolences Anna and Tony Vario
Our sincere condolences to Mary, Jenny, Jordan, and Jessica. Our thoughts and prayers are with you!
Chris will be missed!
Memories
My memories are what I have left,
and a lesson I will not forget.
The time has come when time is no more,
and all that's left was once before.
The memories so dear and true,
those memories of me and you.
Although we fell and stumbled at times,
all those hills were necessary climbs.
All the times when your heart shined through,
are the greatest memories I have of you.
I will always remember you brother of mine
in my heart I will always keep you, so I will be fine.
I will go forward with my head up high
it might be hard, I cannot lie.
But I'm my heart you will be, moving forward, you with me.
Dedicated to my brother Chris.
Love always and forever, Angelo.
We are sadden to hear of Chris’s passing. He was the pillar of love and strength to his family and friends and facing his illness with that same tenacity that made him an even more incredible friend, father and spouse. He enriched the lives of those who knew him through his genuinely kind and fun loving personality; leaving behind great memories and a positive impact on those he encountered . We pray that God will grant you strength during this most difficult time. Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us each day, unseen and unheard, but always near . May eternal rest be granted unto him and memory be eternal.
I will NEVER forget your bright eyed enthusiasm and laugh.
You were an amazing father and husband.
My heart goes out to them.
Rest in Peace cuz.
Tom Melissis.
