Here today I stand in shock and disbelief before God , and in thoughts for the family of Chris and Mary Zolis.
We are grief stricken with the passing of a dear friend, a former neighbor, a father to his three children and a husband to his wife – and my heart goes out to his survivors, as life will never be the same without Chris.
We first met Chris and Mary in April of 1983 while both our families were house hunting, and as it turned out we purchased homes right next door to each other. We had a wonderful understanding friendship, and we were the envy on our street. Every Wednesday night we used to take the cars out of the garage, Open up the folding table, made coffee, Cake and had a wonderful time with each other. We even went on vacation together in 1985 to the Algarve in Portugal – we had one of the best vacations that one could never replicate even if we tried. We were neighbors for a short 2-1/2 years, but our friendship lasted for over 33 years, and this very friendship has brought me to tears today to pay homage to a wonderful, caring, decent and honorable individual who had always put his friends first. He loved and adored his family – his three children were the light in his life, but Chris too had a void in his heart – he lost his mother many years ago, and years later lost his father. Today, Chris is survived by his wife Mary, His daughters Jennifer and Jessica and his son Jordan, his Brother Angelo, father-in-law Nick, mother-in-law Angela, sister-in-law Sylvia and brother-in-law Bill, and nieces Peggy, Melissa, Angelica and Nephew Michael who will truly miss their uncle Chris.. Chris – from your friends who spoke to you just days ago a day before your birthday – we are in shock, our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family as we will miss you and your trademark – the moustache.
