In memory of

Chi-Hong Giang

March 2, 1951 -  August 19, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Hong Giang, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, who passed away surrounded by loved ones on August 19, 2025 at the age of 74.

Hong was born on March 2, 1951 in Saigon, Vietnam. He immigrated to Canada in August of 1980 where he met his wife Yen. They married in 1982 and worked tirelessly to build a beautiful life for their family.

Hong lived a humble life, always carrying a smile and found joy with the simplest things in life. Those who met him always remembered his calm and gentle demeanour. His family will never forget his unwavering strength, selflessness, and endless love.

Hong loved gardening (orchids and lilies were his favourites), photography, music, day trips with his family, coffee, durian, and sweets. He was a man of many languages; fluent in Vietnamese, Teochew, Cantonese, Mandarin, and English (he liked to downplay his fluency in English!).

Hong is survived by his loving wife of 43 years Nhung Yen Giang, his children Andy (Julia) and Emily, and his grandsons Archer and Mischa.

A service will be held on Monday, August 25, 2025 at 8:30am, at Elgin Mills Funeral Centre. All who knew and were touched by Hong are welcome to attend and celebrate his life.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Michael's Hospital or the Kidney Foundation of Canada (kidney.ca).

My uncle will always be remembered for the quiet strength, warmth, and kindness he brought into every room. His gentle smile and calm spirit left a lasting impression on everyone.

As heartbreaking as it is to say goodbye, I find comfort in knowing that my mom will be there to welcome him with open arms. She will watch over and guide him now, just as he always watched over his family with love and devotion.

Sending all my love and deepest condolences to my Aunt Yen, Andy, Emily, and the rest of the family during this difficult time.

With love and sympathy,

Tuan Truong
