Cheryl Kostopoulos
July 17, 1948 - November 7, 2014
Cheryl (Sherry) Kostopoulos
(Nee Webb)
1948 - 2014
It is with a profound sense of loss and extreme sadness that we announce the passing of Cheryl (Sherry) Kostopoulos, peacefully, at home, surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer. Sherry is survived by George, her loving husband of 43 years, dearest children Laurie, Chris and his wife Wendy and Tom and his wife Lisa, adoring grandchildren Cameron, Tyler, Joshua, Lily and Luc, brother Art Webb ( Denise), sisters Jane ( Ken Raymer ), Christine ( Dan Pelot), Jennifer (Richard Powers) and Robyn, and her many nieces, nephews and cousins. Cheryl was owner and president of Pak Mail Canada, having built a long and successful career as one of the women pioneers in franchising. She worked tirelessly to promote and support the Canadian Franchise Association, having chaired its Award of Excellence committee since its inception, served as a Director for many years, as well as its President for two, unprecedented, consecutive terms. Loved and respected by all who knew her, she was known for her love of family and friends and for her devotion and fair-dealing approach to business by Pak Mail’s franchisee-partners, vendors and business associates.
All who knew Cheryl may pay their respects at the Mt. Pleasant Visitation Centre at 375 Mount Pleasant Road, Toronto on Friday, November 14th from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. or on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. A memorial service will be held in the chapel at 11 a.m. Saturday, followed by a reception in the Visitation Centre. The family extends its gratitude to Dr. Malcolm Moore and his team at the Princess Margaret Hospital, our family physician Dr. B. Tazkarji and in particular Nurse Marilyn Chuli, for all their efforts and commitment to helping Cheryl wage this very courageous battle. In lieu of flowers, Cheryl requested that donations may be directed to: The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation, 610 University Avenue, Toronto, ON M5G 2M9, 416.946.6560. http://www.thepmcf.ca
