In memory of

Chee Wei Chen

November 26, 1927 -  January 9, 2021

My father Chee-Wei Chen was born in Shanghai China on Nov 26, 1927. He was the youngest child in his family. As a child born in the early 20th century, he went through a lot during his lifetime. A world ravaged by war, WW II and civil war in China. After China become a communist country, my father become jobless. He has no choice but choose to accept leaving his family and follow to find a job in Hong Kong. All these life obstacles influencing his views on the post-war world in which he himself grew up and, later, raised his own family.

From start to finish, my Heavenly Father guided my earthly father’s steps in his faith walk. And, in turn, my precious earthly father then guided mine. Dad instilled a love for the Lord—and for the Word of God—that I pray daily for God to deepen within me.

I love you grandpa. I will now bring you your stick you requested for over 2 years. My memory is poor so I apologize that it took so long. I hope you are enjoying life in heaven with God and your wife. I know you are at peace now and we will meet again one day.

Love, Fat boy

Dear Joseph, May, Jon and Jason,

We will miss 陳伯 smile and wearing his cool sunglasses on Sunday mornings when coming to church. We know he is in our loving Father’s arm enjoying His presence forever.

May His peace and love be with your family during this difficult time. Even though we could not be at the funeral, you are in our prayers.

Our deepest condolences to the Chen family at this difficult time. Over the last few years, we had the privilege getting to know grandpa Chen. He is one of the most polite gentleman we ever met. His smile is so contagious and he always kept us laughing with his jokes. We will miss checking up on him while visiting Woodhaven, helping him with his TV remote and reminding him to eat his bananas, etc.
We know that Poh Poh will miss sitting at the dining table with him and eyeing his delicious snacks in his room. Thank you Ada and Joseph for always treating Poh Poh to delicious take-out meals that grandpa and her could share.
May you find comfort knowing that grandpa is now with our Lord and his sweet heart whom we had heard so much about.
We will forever cherish the fond memories that we shared with him.
