In memory of

Charles Christopher Parris

October 4, 1943 -  June 28, 2018

Passed away peacefully on June 28th, 2018 at the age of 74. He is the late son of Dola and Louise. Beloved husband of Sylvia. Cherished father of Jules, Devon and Tiffany. Beloved grandfather to Julien, Jayden, and Jazzy. Cherished Uncle to Imani, Troy, Vadim, Mark, Tony, Peter, Pat, Betty, Antonio, Natalie, Courtney and Jenna. Brother to Dorothy, Elaline, Myrtle, Dolene, Jeanne, Charlie, late sister Yvonne and brother Lionel. He lived a full life that began in St. George, Barbados. He started his career by joining the British Army in 1963 allowing him to explore the world at young age. He spoke often about those years and expressed repeatedly how much they enjoyed them. He enjoyed this until he began his career in nursing while making Canada his home. Here, he flourished and created a beautiful life for him and his family. He enjoyed travelling with his family, cooking, (big pot of soup), gardening, taking care of his dogs and engaging in distinguished debates. His passing has left a huge void in our family but we are so grateful to have had him in our lives for so long. He had not only quantity of life but also quality of life. We know he is on Rockley beach in Barbados enjoying paradise. We will always keep him in a special place in our hearts. We have limited honourable men in the World and we are so thankful to have had this one in our lives. Special Thank you to Dr Melissa Graham and the wonderful staff in MDU at UHN.

Funeral service and interment will be held privately.
A memorial service will be held in the future.

Sylvia and family,
My thoughts are with you all as you mourn the loss of your husband and father. I always remember Chris as a quiet but confident presence on 2 North. He was an absolute professional. Please keep memories of the good times shared close in your hearts.

I remember the RN in the crisp white and pressed uniform back when I first graduated. Chris would walk down the stairs to our unit to see how we were doing. He had style like no other before and actually since which says a lot. Always calm and very cool. Sylvia, we go back many years and there are so many great memories of all of our times together. My heart reaches out to you and your family!
