In memory of

陳吳秋娣太夫人 Chao Tai Ng Chan

October 3, 1929 -  June 27, 2024

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Chao Tai Ng Chan, who passed away peacefully at Sunnybrook Hospital in her sleep on June 27, 2024 at the age of 94.

She was born on October 3, 1929, in Taishan, China, and lived most of her adult life in Toronto. She was a dedicated wife to her late husband David Nam Wo Chan, and a devoted mother to her 7 children.

Chao Tai Ng Chan was a kind and nurturing person. She enjoyed gardening, going out for dim sum, and casinos. But, there was nothing she loved more than caring for her large, and growing family, and celebrating each and every grandchild and great-grandchild with much joy and happiness. She always saw the best in everyone.

She is survived by her 7 children, Perry (Zhen), King, Percy, Mary, Barry (Samantha), Shirley (Henry), and Shelly (Kevin); 15 grandchildren Angela (Nathan), Candice, Brandon, Stephen, Michael, Jennifer, Charlotte (Sean), Stanley, Jessica, Anthony, Danette (Will), Christopher, Evette, Jonathan, and Kaylynn; and 5 great-grandchildren, Aiden, Jacob, Grayson, Madeleine, and May, who will all miss her dearly.

Rest in peace, dear mother, you live on in your children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and you will forever be in our hearts and memories.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Sunnybrook Foundation.
