譚祥源 Chang Yuen "David" Tam

September 5, 1927 -  October 4, 2018

Chang Yuen (David) Tam, was born September 5, 1927 in Taishan, China. He passed away peacefully at age 91 in Toronto, Canada on Thursday October 4, 2018 with his son, Paddy by his side.

David is survived by his children, Paddy and his wife Mafalda, Robert, Lynda and her husband Paul; grandchildren, Nicholas and his wife Eunmi, Samantha, Albert, Andrew and James; great grandsons, Avery and Elliott; his younger sister. He was preceded in death by his wife, Poy Fong (Lee) in 2004; daughter, Elaine in 2006, daughter-in-law, Charmaine in 2007, his older sister and younger brother, Tim.

David loved the gathering of his family to enjoy a good meal together. He was an avid reader of daily newspapers, in both English and Chinese. As a retired cook, he enjoyed many television programs about food and cooking.

A special thank-you to the Yee Hong Centre in Scarborough McNicoll, who provided a warm caring environment for the last year and half.

David will be laid to rest on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 next to his wife in a small private family gathering.
