Chai Gen Lu

July 28, 1936 -  June 9, 2017

Chai Gen Lu, a long-time resident of Mississauga, passed away Friday, June 9th, 2017 at Trillium Hospital surrounded by family after a courageous and relentless battle with cancer.

Born on July 28th, 1936, Chai Gen was born and raised in the Ghangzhou region of China. He spent decades working in the office of various food manufactures in China. He immigrated to Canada in 1996, where his daughters Yung Ping and Yung Yee resides, retiring shortly after.

Lu Chai Gen loved Chinese cuisine especially baked goods, socializing with people of a range of different backgrounds, playing cards, watching tv, reading the news and strolling around his neighbourhoods. While Chai Gen was not well versed in English, he greeted everyone he met with a smile "hello" and always thanked the kindness of strangers. He was always lighthearted and had a laughter that would light up the room.

He is survived by his wife, Wang Wei Jing and his four children, Lu Zhi Lin, Lu Fang Ping, Lu Yung Ping and Lu Yung Yee.
