CATERINA BARBIERI April 8th, 1932 - August 25, 2016. It is with the heaviest of hearts that we announce the passing of Caterina in her 84th year. Caterina was the beloved partner of the late Giovanni Barbieri (1980) and the much loved daughter of the of late Salvatore Amello and the late Maria Doria. She was the cherished sister of Giuseppe, Rafalele, Maria, Vito, Antonietta and of the late Giovanni Amello. She will be sadly missed by her great grand children Alexis, Myla, Gia, Giorgia, Peanut #2 and by her grand children Carlo, Cristina, David, Simon, Monique, Julian, Stefan, Jenna, Jonathan, Téa, Sofia, Andrea. Caterina was adored by her children Vito, Lina, Vince John, Rosemary, Nick, Joe, Frank and by her daughters-in-laws Sheila, Rosa, Rosanna, Lisa and sons-in-law Enio and Daniel. Caterina was born in San Vito sullo Ionio in Calabria, Italy and made a life and raised her family in Toronto. Caterina was not only a wonderful mother but a strong woman that was dedicated to her family. Above all she was a beacon of light, strength and encouragement for those who were close to her.

Friends may visit at the Mount Pleasant Funeral Centre 375 Mount Pleasant Road (east gate entrance) on Sunday, August 28 from 2-4 and 6-9 pm. A Celebration of her life will be held in the Chapel on Monday, August 29 at 10 am followed by entombment at Westminster Cemetery and Mausoleum. Donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
