In memory of

Carolyn Ingham Ross (nee Reed)

January 24, 1933 -  April 16, 2021

Born in Sherbrooke, Quebec to parents James and Elsie Reed, Carolyn was the beloved wife of the late Ron Ross, her high-school sweetheart, and mother of Heather, Donna, Marilyn and Jill. She will be remembered lovingly by their families including Fraser, Peter, Neil and grandchildren Callum, Cara, Kyle, Spencer, Annie, Cooper, Sam, many relatives, friends and neighbours. She survived her brother Donald and was a caring aunt to her nieces, Karen and Wendy.

Carolyn was dedicated to, and loved gathering with, her family and friends. She was a welcoming host to all, including exchange students and surprise visitors. She travelled widely, then created beautiful albums from her photos and keepsakes, and wrote accompanying memoirs. She loved to read and instilled that passion into her children. She enjoyed her garden and relished picking the produce supplied by her husband’s green thumb. She was an active member of her church community, a life-long volunteer, and an ardent animal lover, especially cats.

She enjoyed a long nursing career, much of it focused on infants and children, that spanned Bermuda, Quebec and Ontario. In later years, she delighted in her work in the Special Care Nursery at Peel Memorial. She also undertook specialty training in palliative care and used those skills to improve the experience of those at end of life through volunteer visiting.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her honour would be welcomed by one of these organizations she supported: St. Bartholomew’s United Church, the Pediatric Oncology Group of Ontario (POGO), Regeneration Brampton or a charity of your choice.

During our lifetime some of us are fortunate enough to meet people who leave pleasant memorable Impressions.
I remember Mrs. Ross (this is what I always called her) as a kind, caring and welcoming lady who loved her family beyond measure.
Heaven has welcomed an angel.
Deepest condolences to your entire family.

For so many years when I was a kid, Mrs. Ross was indeed *very* accommodating about the many hours I spent in her home playing and hanging out with Jill. I am sure I overstayed my welcome more than once, but she was too classy and elegant to make me feel that was the case. A few years down the road Mrs. Ross became the first to ever commission my artwork. It was so wonderful of her to do that for me and I will always appreciate her vote of confidence.
I am so sorry that you are having to deal with losing her on top of such a difficult year. My deepest condolences to all of you. I hope your wonderful memories will help to carry you through this very difficult time.
