It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Carol Elizabeth Birtch (nee Wright), at the age of 93 at Meighen Manor.

Wife of the late Rowland S. Pack and the late Dr. George Birtch. Mother of John (deceased). Deborah, Carolyn and Marianne. Grandmother of Rachel (James), Hayley, Joseph, Alessandra and Natalia (Sanjay). Great-grandmother of Mattea, Alexander, Mia, Juliana, Sophia and Charlotte. Eldest sister of Mimi (deceased), Nancy (deceased) and Charlotte.

Carol was an outstanding musician, a talented piano accompanist and vocal coach. She taught accompaniment classes at the University of Toronto. She was a frequent recitalist with her late husband Rolly on many CBC broadcasts playing piano and harpsichord, and also singing with her lovely soprano voice. Carol was a quick-witted, funny, talented and strong woman. She will be greatly missed.

A memorial will be held at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in the spring.
