In memory of

Carmen Francis (Officer)

November 24, 1944 -  February 17, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Carmen Joyce (Francis) Officer. She passed peacefully on Thursday February 17th in her 77th year of life steadfast in her faith at her residence, Rockcliff Care Community in Scarborough. She was a loving daughter to predeceased mother Ethel Biggs and father Keith Francis. Carmen lovingly leaves behind Henry Officer, her children Charmaine (Peter Newland), Elroy (Beth), Andre (Veronica), Sceron (Catherine), Scerena, her grandchildren Sydney, Roman, Curtly, Cheyenne, Pryce, Leila and Dimitri her sisters Norma (Mohamed), Ivy (Mohamed), Clarice (Clarke), brothers George and Evan (Gordon), Rudolph (Clarke), Roy, Raymond and Hector and predeceased brother Junior (Mohamed).

She was a student of the word of God with determination and joy. Drawing her closer while teaching others. Resting in everlasting peace, we look to the day of being reunited with her in Zion. We are left with our many cherished memories of 'mom', her fine cooking, love of music, reading, her culture and community.

Friends will be received at Pine Hills Cemetery & Visitation Center (625 Birchmount Road) on Sunday March 13th from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Internment to follow.

Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to Canadian National Institue for the Blind, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Ontario Black History Society

We encourage you to share your most beloved memories of Carmen by signing Carmen's guest book and uploading cherished photographs to Carmen's photo album so the family and other loved ones can always see it.

Please access this page on the day for the 'Live Stream' link for the funeral service.

To a lovely vibrant fashionable woman who is always cheerful and friendly to everyone.

We will sadly miss your smiles and witty comments!!

You were always firm and strong for your children. We thought that you taught your children and grandchildren well in discipline, kindness and God’s love, making them true friends for us to socialize, learn from and be with.

May God give you and your family peace and loving memories to cherish!! Our condolences!
