In memory of

Carlos Foppiano

April 16, 1956 -  September 6, 2021

It is with sadness that we announce Carlos Foppiano passed away on September 6, 2021 surrounded by family after a five year battle with pancreatic cancer. He was only 65. Carlos was a loving Father with a strong passion for learning topics such as philosophy, gardening, engineering, and his family history. Most important to him was his wife Luce, Mother Edda, and children Marie-Claire, Jean-David, and Caroline. He will also be greatly missed by his siblings Rossana and Renzo, as well as his extended family around the world. Carlos was always eager to expand his horizons and try something new with his family. Such as when he learned to ski with Luce or when he took scuba diving classes with the whole family. He was also an avid learner and loved doing science projects with his children. He had a life well lived and was loved. With the support from his palliative care doctors and nurses he was able to spend his last weeks at home with his family. His family is also thankful to his oncologist Dr. Craig Earle at the Sunnybrook Hospital Odette Cancer Centre. For anyone wishing to donate in Carlos’ memory, please consider the Odette Cancer Centre. As per Carlos’ wishes, there will be no funeral or memorial. The family will have a private celebration of life in September.

It has been one of the greatest pleasures of my life to have had you as my friend for these last 50 ish years Carlos. You have added tremendously to the fabric of my life. I have learned so much from you, on topics l was interested in, and some less so😉- your desire to teach was charmingly irrepressible. Our talks over the years were wonderfully entertaining, and l can hear your voice in my head right now, “ Oh Debbie, stop it.” Who am l going to crab to now? I’m going to miss you forever my friend. It’s been an absolute honour Carlos. My heartfelt condolences to your mother, and all your family and friends. Thank you Luce for making my friend so very happy, and for giving him immortality via your 3 wonderful children- Marie-Claire, Caroline, and Jean Davide.
