My condolences to all of Carla's family. I will remember my wonderful chats with Carla. She so loved Hudson. We spoke of Suriname, her family, the wedding you all attended in Quebec. I retired last year but visited the office in January. Again I had a good chat with her. I will miss her.

I am probably one of the few in the family that Carla has been with from her birth in 1949. Father Lee Kin Fong adored Carla and was of course very proud of her.

One of the first photos looks like this: In a large woven wicker armchair upholstered with a few thick cushions, baby Carla and I lay standing next to it at the age of three. There are several shots from our early childhood, because Uncle Lee Kin Fong loved to photograph. Soon the most expensive presents arrived. To Carla a metal pony with a trailer, with which you could propel yourself while pedaling. Uncle gave me a metal white horse, on which you could really "ride". It didn't stop there. On our birthdays, Carla's father went by bicycle early in the morning to the pastry shop of C. Kersten and Co. on the Jodenbreestraat to get real Dutch pastries.

Two years ago I shared this story with Carla and she remembered it well. Our teenage years were also very special! We spent a lot of time together. Together to the cinema, to parties, to shows and song festivals with domestic and foreign artists and singers from America, the Netherlands, French Caribbean islands, etc. We danced in the ballrooms of luxury hotels such as the Palace Hotel and Hotel Torarica. On New Year's Eve, immediately after fireworks were fired with deafening noise, we went up to the Society “Het Park” to dance until 6 am!

With her cheerfulness and exuberance, Carla was very popular with the family and friends! Her beautiful big eyes, smile and charisma made her special. I dedicate this story especially to Roz and Carolyn and Carla's two lovely grandchildren.

In my memory, Carla will live on as a cheerful and above all sociable person. In my childhood, we lived on the Awarradam, which was far from Paramaribo at the time. So sometimes Carla came to stay during the holidays. In our teens, the trips outside of Paramaribo were with Andre George Roy Francis Leo and Marlene Maggy and Tammy and myself. Andre was the only one with a driver's license and company car. We were friends as well as family. Carla was a fan of Cliff Richard and Marlene was for Elvis Presley.

After the Lee Kin Fong family left for Canada, she stayed in Suriname for some time. At that time, Carla worked as a management secretary at Kersten. We then made trips to the far west of Suriname, deep into the jungle, together with our boyfriends at the time. There is also a lot of fun there.

Unfortunately, our contact was not maintained after she left Suriname. Last pictures she sent was of her lovely girls when they were 4 yrs old. Until last January when it was her birthday I sent her congratulations which she liked. Our last contact was Easter.

She was sweet and caring. She helped your parents a lot. Your mother was strict. She had a stiff upbringing. She also loved to laugh. Cycling on your father's high bike.

This was about it . She had also won praise for clean writing in Chinese characters.. She was eager to learn.

I remember tante Carla as a very warm, spontaneous, cheerful person who loves to laugh. Always surrounded by friends and family.
