In memory of

Caralee Price

September 3, 1936 -  December 3, 2018

Caralee Williams Price, beloved mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, Ontario Canada, on December 3, 2018. Caralee was born on September 3, 1936 in Pleasant Grove, Utah. She was the first child of John Walter and Eva Yancey Williams. She grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah and graduated from South High School. She attended Stevens Henager Business College, where she received secretarial training. She met John Price in 1956 while waiting for the bus to the University of Utah. They were married on June 10, 1957. She worked as a secretary at the University of Utah in the Anthropology Department while finishing her undergraduate work. In 1960, she and her family lived in Mesa Verde. They then moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1962 so John could finish his degree in Anthropology at the University of Michigan. They lived with their four beautiful children in Osaka, Japan for one year before moving to Spring Valley, California. In 1970 she moved to Toronto Canada where she worked at the University of Toronto in the Women’s Studies department for many years. In 1976 she graduated with a Master’s Degree from the University of Toronto in Social Work.

She was a wonderful watercolor artist and a continuing social reformer who, throughout her life, always championed the cause of the homeless, the downtrodden, or the less fortunate. She cherished her children and grandchildren and spoke proudly of their accomplishments and talents. Caralee is survived by her four children: Michael (Claire) Price, Laura (Ross) Williams, Kimball (Anne-Marie) Price, and Walter Price and her sister LaNett (Lynn) Dial. Adding to her great legacy, are four grandchildren, Jenny, Nicole, Thomas & Oliver. She was preceded in death by her former husband John Price, and her sister, Gayle Parsons.

A Celebration of Life is to be planned.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Joseph’s Health Centre, which cared for Caralee for many years, at http://supportstjoes.ca/

It was a pleasure to meet and work with Caralee. Her fierce independence and good humor set her apart from many. It is nice to see some of her "stufdy" qualities carried forth in her children. My warmest condolences go out to the family.
