In memory of

Loretta Cappello

May 9, 1954 -  January 21, 2022

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Loretta Cappello, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend on Friday, January 21, 2022. She is survived by her loving husband, Phil Cappello. Much loved mother to Vanessa (Scott) Boucher, and Michael (Lisa) Cappello. Devoted daughter to Velia Muzzin.

Loretta was a selfless, kind, and loving person who touched the hearts of many. Always someone to pause and think deeply, Loretta was often turned to for advice, for consolation, for direction and for support. Her beautiful, vibrant, and caring soul has touched so many and the positive impacts on all her family and friends are reflected in the outpouring of support the family has received.

In recent years, her greatest joy was spending time with her precious grandchildren Lucas, Gabriel and Evelina. Her grandchildren looked forward to special playdate visits, daily FaceTime calls with Nonna, and loved sharing their new discoveries and adventures with her.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Loretta’s honour to the Southlake Foundation. There is an option to gift "in memory or in honour" and prompts can be followed to donate to the Regional Cardiac Care Program, who tended to Loretta with care in her final hours.

***Info: A live stream of the service will be available on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022 at 1:45 p.m. The link can be found at the top of the home page. COVID restrictions unfortunately allow for only 40 person capacity at maximum. Our 40 person guest list has been filled and all guests have been contacted directly, so please help ensure all friends and family who are eager to support Loretta and her family at the funeral are aware that they will be turned away at the doors if not on the guest list. We welcome opportunity in the future to share some time together in less complex and challenging times, and hope there is some small consolation in being able to celebrate virtually.***

Phil, Vanessa and Michael, I offer my deepest deepest condolences for your loss of Loretta. I am heartbroken and in disbelief. In our younger years we were like sisters spending almost every weekend together. She was bright, vivacious, caring and loving. With our families growing, there was less time spent together but we still continued to create everlasting memories such as the annual friends and kids Christmas parties, weddings, baptisms and dinners with girlfriends. I will treasure these memories and am thankful that there are many to reflect on. May you also find strength in remembering the great times and everyday blessings she brought to your family. God bless you all
