With great sadness, Cailie slipped away peacefully on April 22 in Calgary, Alberta at the age of 29. Loving mother of Maria and Anthony. Cailie will be deeply missed by her husband James. Beloved daughter of Nancy Douse, John Griffith and Michael Douse, daughter in-law of Peter and Marie Kottaras. Dear sister to Meaghan and Shona Douse (Nicole) and Alex Griffith (Brittany), sister-in-law of George Kottaras. Cailie will be greatly missed by her grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, niece Madison and so many friends who loved her.

Cailie loved her family and being in nature. She treasured her memories of the family cottage at Sioux Narrows where she spent many summers with her Nana and Grandpa. She enjoyed taking her children on adventures, hiking in the mountains and forests around Calgary. She was vibrant, her laughter was infectious and her outgoing personality filled the room with joy wherever she went. Cailie had a gift for listening to people without judgement and was accepting to all. Although her life was cut too short she touched many lives, including those of her co-workers and clients at Calgary Alternative Support Services.

A Celebration of Cailie’s life will be held on Saturday, May 11 at The Simple Alternative Funeral Centre, 1057 Brock Road, Pickering, ON. Visitation at 11:00, service at 12:00, reception 1:00.
