In memory of
Brian Victor Brown
November 24, 1959 -
October 8, 2020
Brian Victor Brown passed away at home on Thursday, October 8, 2020. Son of the late Betty and Leith Brown, brother to the late David Milton (Gail), the late Paul Brown, the late Leslie Brown, Andrew Brown (Marlene), and his sister, Karen Valenta (Gary). Brian married his high school sweetheart, Wendy, whom he was happily married to for 36 years. They were best friends and partners for a wonderful total of 46 years together.
He goes on ahead of his wife, Wendy, his children, James (Linda and Lucas), Chris, and Sarah, and his fur baby, Chloe.
Brian was a passionate, capable, and hardworking man who proudly loved his jobs as a driver then dispatcher in the shipping and transportation industry. He brought his passion to his many interests, especially his faith, music, computers, board and video games, flight simulators, chess and football. He loved multitasking, which he employed with impressive skill in his work and cooking.
Brian loved spending time with people, telling stories, jokes, camping, snorkeling, engaging in sports, and swimming together. He enjoyed travelling with his family and friends to the Caribbean, Mexico, British Columbia and Miners’ Bay Lodge, which he did enthusiastically for over 20 years. He loved to participate in activities and competitions like fishing, shuffleboard, ping pong, archery, horseshoes, and the sand castle competition.
Brian was a fighter who proudly lost over 100 lbs despite his health challenges. He brought that same tenacity in his fight with cancer, eagerly seeking out any and all treatments in his 3 year long battle with the disease.
Despite his immobility, Brian happily enjoyed getting out of the house right up until the end, going around the block in his electric wheel chair, van rides, trips to Hamilton Beach, the airport and touring the countryside of Ontario. He loved greeting everyone he passed by, visiting with neighbours, and spending time with family and friends.
Brian used his diagnoses as a call to action, encouraging those around him, sharing his beliefs in Christ, and instead of letting it get him down, he saw it as an opportunity to serve.
Brian is now at peace, celebrating with his family and friends above until we meet again
