Brian Miller passed away early Monday, September 28 with family by his side, after a brief but tough battle with cancer. Brian was born in Montreal, Quebec and lived in Winnipeg, Manitoba and Paris, France before his family settled in the Toronto neighbourhood of Don Mills. A talented guitarist, Brian played in various touring acts and as a session guitarist, joining progressive rock band Zon in 1977. With Zon, Brian recorded three albums, one of which was nominated for a Juno award, and played music venues from coast to coast. After Zon, Brian continued to play music in Toronto and worked as a recording engineer. For many years he has been a highly-regarded guitar technician, restoring and building instruments at the Twelfth Fret Guitar Shop. Brian and Marion, his wife of 37 years, also own a successful flower shop in Toronto. When they weren’t working, Marion and Brian spent as much time as possible traveling, scuba diving and canoeing. Brian was an avid year-round cyclist and loved being outdoors.
Brian is predeceased by his parents Patricia and Gene, and will be missed dearly by his wife Marion Ferrie, his sister Bonita Then (Edward), nieces Graye and Amy (Rob), his large extended family and many friends, bandmates past and present, and his fellow luthiers. Brian always shared his enormous knowledge and enthusiasm generously; any one who spent time with him for any reason is richer for it.

www.facebook.com/Brian-Miller-1955-2015-1718457301709760/
