In memory of

Brian Hoban

November 16, 1956 -  August 4, 2024

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Brian Hoban on August 4th, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's. Brian's loving presence touched the lives of those around him, and his loss is felt deeply by all who knew him.

Brian is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Heather; his cherished daughter, Micaela; son-in-law, Mike; and his adored granddaughter, Ireland, who brought him immense joy. He is reunited in peace with his sister Eleanor and brother John, who have gone before him. Brian leaves behind his brother Gerry, who remains to carry forward the family's enduring love and memories.

Brian's kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love for his family will be sorely missed. In honoring his memory, we invite those who wish to express their sympathy to make donations in Brian's name to the Alzheimer Society of Toronto, a cause close to his heart, in lieu of flowers.

May his soul rest in eternal peace.

We will always remember "Brian B" so fondly. He was a gentle, kind and funny man and we were blessed to have his company along with Heather and Micaela during many holidays and our annual baseball game. He had a wonderful and patient way with kids, especially ours. He was one of a kind.

My deepest sympathies to Heather and her family, and Gerry and his family in the loss of our beloved Brian. So many fond memories growing up together, at our family cottage and family homes. So much laughter and fun. Brian was the kindest and most gentle man, devoted to family and friends. He will be dearly missed, gone too soon, but resting in peace. xo

To the Hoban Family, I’m so sorry for your loss. Brian was one of the All-time great teammates with the Whites of BBC 1999-2007. I will miss you Brian and know you are in a better place shutting out your opponents again. I look forward to playing with you again in the Heaven league and I promise I’ll back check. RIP ❤️ Mike Thoman

I have many fond memories from when I worked at the Parkdale Library years ago, and they include Brian. His arrival at the branch with the daily deliveries was always a bright spot, as he was always so friendly, kind, and cheerful. My condolences to the family.
